About Amorcia
A pan-African crowdfunding and innovation-support platform, bilingual English and French.
Why "Amorcia"
The name comes from priming (amorçage in French): that first input that lets an idea get going. A project does not need all the money in the world. It needs the first push, and people who believe in it early enough.
The problem we address
Thousands of African founders have a solid idea and no access to traditional funding. Facing them, a diaspora that wants to invest in the continent but lacks reliable, traceable channels. Between the two, a legitimate wariness: where does the money go, and how would you know?
Our answer
Five ways to contribute, donation, reward, loan, investment and mentoring, and one rule that never moves: funds are held in escrow and released milestone by milestone, against proof of delivery. Mobile money first, because that is how Africa pays.
Mentoring is the lever people talk about least and that changes the most. A few hours of expertise from an agronomist in Toronto or a solar specialist in Paris are sometimes worth more than a cheque.
Where we are
Amorcia is being built. The opportunities directory is live and maintained; funding campaigns will open once identity verification and escrow are beyond reproach. We would rather open late than badly.
