GSMA Innovation Fund

The GSMA Innovation Fund, run by the global association of mobile operators, finances businesses using mobile technology to address a development challenge: energy access, digital agriculture, financial services, climate adaptation, humanitarian response.
Grants range from £100,000 to £250,000, paid in milestone-linked tranches. They come with GSMA technical support and, often, introductions to mobile operators in the target market, which is in practice the hardest lever to secure alone.
The fund works in thematic cycles: each call targets a specific sector and geography. Watch for round openings rather than applying continuously, and check that your project matches the theme of the current call.
